Position Summary
The Site Director is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and safety of Kairos’ daily programming at their assigned location. This role provides oversight and leadership for program development, participant experience, staff and volunteer support, and family communication. This role includes up to 10 direct reports.
The Site Director provides daily on-site leadership and serves as the primary point of contact for families, staff, volunteers, and artists.
This position requires a blend of strong organizational skills, relational leadership, program creativity, and a deep commitment to the physical and emotional well-being of our artists.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight & Development
- Ensure high-quality, engaging, and inclusive programming
- Identify opportunities for program growth, improvement, and innovation
- Create and maintain class schedules, including proposed staffing and instructors
- Support and collaborate with outside instructors who lead at their site
Registration & Attendance Management
- Manage program registration in collaboration with spreadsheet tracking and follow up with unregistered families
- Create and maintain accurate attendance records
- Maintain behavior and incident logs as required
Family & Caregiver Communication
- Serve as a consistent and compassionate point of communication for parents and caregivers daily, weekly, and on an as-needed basis
- Send weekly parent emails with relevant updates
- Communicate behavior plans, artist strengths, and challenges as needed
Behavior & Safety Management
- Ensure appropriate staffing ratios and uphold safety standards
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment for artists’ physical and emotional well-being
- Address behavior issues and follow up with parents/caregivers in a timely manner
- Monitor and maintain allergy requirements, including updates to the allergy list as needed
Site Leadership
- Open and close the facility daily
- Lead daily operations and programming on-site
- Serve as the primary point person for families at the assigned location
- Address staffing needs, including covering teaching or support gaps as needed
- Oversee artists’ day-to-day physical and emotional safety, and engagement activity
Administrative & Support Duties
- Conduct monthly check-ins with support staff and volunteers
- Assist with special events and organization-wide initiatives
- Monitor and respond to emails and texts in a timely manner
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage schedules and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with families, caregivers, staff, volunteers, and instructors
- Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, patience, and consistency in a program serving individuals with varying abilities
- Working knowledge of behavior management strategies and a commitment to maintaining required certifications, if applicable
- Ability to create and sustain engaging, inclusive, and structured programming environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive in dynamic or high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with digital tools such as online forms, spreadsheets, and email platforms
- Willingness to step into hands-on leadership when needed, including covering staffing or instructional gaps
- Commitment to maintaining safe staffing ratios and prioritizing physical and emotional safety

- Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
