American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active GA or compact RN license, with on-call responsibilities and rotating weekend coverage.

Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Weekend rotation schedule to be discussed during interview

On-call required: typically one weekday/call per week and one weekend every 5–6 weeks

Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

Local candidates are accepted for this position

Active GA or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of CVOR or cardiovascular OR nursing experience required

All required certifications must be current and copies provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler

No scheduling requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted shift is firm

Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit

RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday coverage is required based on assignment overlap: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work 2, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1)

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week start date delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
