As a Director, you are responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the day-to-day operation and management of the preschool, including building enrollment, parent relationships, financial management, the hiring, and development of staff, marketing, and special events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment according to state, local, and school standards
- Oversee the implementation of our nationally accredited curriculum
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, inspire and build close relationships with teachers.
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, and community contacts
- Lead special events including community events, weekend open houses, training, parent meetings, staff meetings, and corporate events.
- Assume major responsibility for staff scheduling, payroll, labor budget, and staff files.
- Grow enrollment in a new preschool environment
- Represent preschool to the public, community, parents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and integrity.
- Maintain flexibility to work hours between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm
- Qualifications:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Highly professional and job dependable
- Ability to communicate with, motivate others, analyze and solve problems; including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Effective leader with the ability to exercise appropriate, independent judgment calls.
- Knowledge of state and local standards and appropriate early child development practices.
- Ability to ensure a safe, nurturing, learning environment for children.
- Proficient use of technology including Microsoft Office Products as required
Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 4 plus years of experience as a Director in a licensed, high-quality preschool
- Degree in early childhood education or child development preferred
- State of Texas Director Credential
- Knowledge of Procare is a plus; knowledge of some childcare management software required
- DFPS background clearance
- Maintains CPR and First Aid certifications
