Assistant Manager — New Restaurant Opening August 2026
Pay: $23.50–$28.00 per hour
Join the opening team at Canton Rodeo’s first location! We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Assistant Manager who is passionate about great food, genuine hospitality, and building a strong team from the ground up.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious restaurant leader who wants to grow with a new company. You’ll partner closely with the General Manager, lead both Front and Back of House operations, and help create a fast, fun, and welcoming experience for every guest.
This role is designed as a path toward becoming a future General Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Lead restaurant operations and support the team throughout each shift
- Deliver warm, attentive hospitality and resolve guest concerns professionally
- Coach, train, and motivate team members through real-time feedback and recognition
- Assign positions based on team strengths, guest volume, and operational needs
- Maintain high standards for food quality, order accuracy, speed, cleanliness, and safety
- Keep all stations stocked, organized, and ready for service
- Step into any Front or Back of House position when the team needs support
- Complete opening, shift, and closing checklists
- Manage cash-handling procedures, labor targets, scheduling, and shift coverage
- Support inventory counts, ordering, deliveries, and cost-control efforts
- Maintain proper product storage, labeling, rotation, and FIFO procedures
- Assist the General Manager with reports, documentation, and team performance
- Lead the restaurant in the General Manager’s absence
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of restaurant leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and the ability to motivate others
- Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to remain composed and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability, adaptability, and a strong sense of urgency
- Passion for food, hospitality, and team development
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handler certification, as required locally
- Comfort learning restaurant technology, including POS, scheduling, inventory, training, and food-safety systems
Experience in a high-volume restaurant, team training, scheduling, inventory management, or cost control is a plus. Spanish-English bilingual skills are also a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role in a fast-paced restaurant. The Assistant Manager regularly moves between the Front and Back of House and works around hot cooking equipment, steam, sharp utensils, cleaning products, elevated noise levels, and potentially slippery surfaces.
The role requires standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and lifting; safely operating restaurant equipment and POS systems; and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
