Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery modes including bicycles, cargo bikes, pedicabs, or other shared mobility systems to complete deliveries across urban environments.
- Navigate city streets efficiently using mobile devices and GPS tools to meet delivery deadlines.
- Assist customers with wheelchair support or other special needs during deliveries, demonstrating compassion and flexibility.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, providing clear information about delivery status and resolving any issues promptly.
- Use two-way radio communication to coordinate with dispatchers and team members for smooth operations.
- Manage cash transactions accurately when required and process deliveries with attention to detail.
- Maintain equipment such as hand trucks and dollies in good condition; perform basic bicycle repairs if needed to ensure safety and reliability.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations and safety protocols while on outdoor work assignments.
- Support the loading and unloading of packages using appropriate tools, ensuring secure handling of items like dollies or cargo bikes.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company positively during every interaction and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in food service with outdoor work exposure preferred.
- Strong knowledge of city street navigation and local geography.
- Ability to operate bicycles, cargo bikes, pedicabs, or similar shared mobility systems confidently and safely.
- Experience handling customer inquiries with professionalism and patience.
- Familiarity with mobile devices for route management and communication purposes.
- Ability to manage cash transactions accurately when necessary.
- Basic bicycle repair skills or willingness to learn maintenance tasks to ensure equipment functionality.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight delivery schedules consistently.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions; previous outdoor work experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety standards relevant to urban delivery routes.
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
