The Infant Teacher provides a safe, loving, and nurturing environment that supports the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of infants. The teacher builds trusting relationships with children and families while maintaining a clean, organized classroom and following all licensing regulations and center policies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide responsive, attentive care that meets each infant’s individual needs.
- Create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Follow each infant’s feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care schedule.
- Maintain accurate daily reports for parents, including meals, diapers, naps, and activities.
- Encourage age-appropriate development through play, music, tummy time, reading, sensory experiences, and exploration.
- Maintain constant supervision and ensure children’s safety at all times.
- Sanitize toys, equipment, cribs, changing tables, and classroom materials according to health and sanitation guidelines.
- Practice safe sleep procedures at all times.
- Recognize and respond promptly to children’s cues, needs, and emotions.
- Communicate professionally and positively with parents regarding their child’s daily progress and development.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers to maintain a positive team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and center information.
- Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
- Follow all state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood credentials or Degree
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass all required background checks.
- MUST HAVE experience caring for infants in a licensed facility.
