About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Full Charge Accountant to join their team. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory accounting, payroll, reconciliations, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage full-cycle accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Sales Orders, and Intercompany Billings.
- Prepare daily and monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Process vendor payments and customer cash receipts.
- Perform daily and weekly cash reconciliations.
- Reconcile check registers, vendor statements, purchases, and other account activity.
- Assist with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting
- Monitor and analyze production efficiencies.
- Track work-in-progress inventory and raw material consumption.
- Manage inventory costing and receipt of raw materials and manufacturing supplies.
- Process purchase orders, sales orders, and inventory transfers.
- Reconcile warehouse inventory on a daily basis.
- Audit inventory processes and internal control systems.
- Investigate and report inventory and production variances.
- Assist in maintaining effective internal controls.
Reporting & Compliance
- Support monthly and periodic regulatory and operational reporting requirements.
- Work closely with management to monitor accounting systems and financial activities.
- Reconcile assets, liabilities, and expenditures for monthly reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED and at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience; OR
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least 1 year of progressive accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Manufacturing accounting and inventory experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial and operational data and identify discrepancies and trends.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with Sage 100, MAS90, or similar ERP/accounting software preferred.
