Position Summary:
The Toddler Montessori Assistant supports the Lead Toddler Montessori Teacher in creating and maintaining a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment for children ages 12 months to 3 years. This role assists with classroom preparation, child supervision, daily routines, and reinforcing Montessori principles while helping foster each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inviting Montessori classroom environment.
- Support the implementation of Montessori philosophy and curriculum appropriate for toddler development.
- Encourage children's independence by assisting with practical life activities, language development, motor skills, and daily routines.
- Supervise and engage with children during classroom work periods, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
- Prepare, organize, clean, and replenish Montessori materials and classroom supplies.
- Observe children's progress and share observations with the Lead Teacher.
- Model grace, courtesy, and respectful interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
- Support positive classroom behavior using Montessori guidance techniques.
- Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining licensing, health, and safety standards.
- Communicate professionally with families as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and school staff to support a positive, child-centered learning environment.
- Perform other classroom duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
Qualifications:
- Montessori Toddler Assistant training or willingness to complete training preferred.
- Experience working with children ages 12 months to 3 years preferred.
- Passion for early childhood education and willingness to learn Montessori philosophy.
- Warm, patient, dependable, and respectful approach to working with young children.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:
