Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver compassionate patient care, assist with daily activities, and support residents’ well-being in a dynamic senior living setting. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a safe, comfortable environment for our residents.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Administer medications and perform catheter care following medical terminology guidelines and home healthcare regulations
- Provide specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care, including memory care activities and end-of-life support with compassion and respect
- Support patients during transfers, ensuring safe handling while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality
- Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records and ensure compliance with all home health care assistance standards
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid or basic life support (BLS), including CPR when needed
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is a strong plus
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information
- Proven ability to provide compassionate patient personal care assistance while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
