The person selected for this position will be responsible for the supervision of children after school instruction. The hours of this position are 2:30-6:00 Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:
Before Care and After Care teachers must be at least 18 years of age and exhibit an interest in working with young children. They must have a warm, friendly personality and be able to relate to both children and adults. Previous experience in childcare, preschool, or camp preferred.
General Responsibilities:
- Prepare the room with age appropriate activity centers
- Provide a safe, relaxed setting for children to socialize and play; set up activities, read books, listen to music, play games
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times
- Weather permitting, supervise children on the playground
- Foster each child’s sense of identity, belonging, and citizenship
- Practice professional ethics in regard to students, parents and staff; treat each child with dignity and respect
- Maintain a clean, orderly and visually appealing classroom environment
- Assume an equal share of joint housekeeping responsibilities by the entire staff
- Engage with families at arrival/dismissal; follow authorized release policies
- Handle confidential medical and emergency response information
- Attend monthly after care staff meetings
- Attend and participate in school functions, including Back to School Night
- Arrange substitute coverage when out of school for personal or sick time
Other Requirements:
- Complete 12 staff development hours annually per State licensing regulations
- Obtain certification in CPR, AED, first aid and EpiPen use
- Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the staff manual and the New Jersey Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers
