Your route. Your customers. Your schedule. You'll drive for Rich’s - a family-owned brand that's been delivering across America for decades - with a team of drivers whose average tenure is 9.5 years. If you're ready to work hard and be trusted to get the job done, this is the role for you.
As a CDL B Route Driver, you'll manage your own accounts at supermarkets and grocery stores - delivering Carvel ice cream cakes, keeping freezer displays stocked and looking great, and building strong relationships with the store teams you'll see every week. This isn't cold calling. You'll inherit an established route with customers who already know the Rich's brand. Your job is to show up, do great work, and grow the relationship.
Here's what makes Rich's different from other DSD employers:
- ·Stable, guaranteed pay — not commission-based
- Twice-yearly performance bonus based on safety and sales goals (attainable — most drivers hit it)
- Year-round, stable work — our routes run 52 weeks a year across grocery and retail accounts
- Key Holidays Off: 4 days off for Thanksgiving, 2 days at Christmas, plus Super Bowl Monday!
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half when it arises
- Ryder/Penske maintained fleet
- Blue Cross Blue Shield healthcare plus dental, vision, legal and identity theft coverage
- Wellbeing program that can save you up to $600 on your annual benefits, plus gym membership reimbursement
- 2 weeks PTO in year 1, rising to 4 weeks at 15 years
- Uniform, safety equipment and tablet provided
A WORD FROM OUR DRIVER TEAM:
"I've been with Rich's for 19 years. The management trusts you to do the job and they have your back when something goes wrong. I wouldn't go anywhere else." — Gary, Carvel Route Driver, 19 years
"I wasn't sure at first — how much ice cream cake can you sell? But the pay is stable, the people are great, and I've been here 18 years." — Dean, Carvel Route Driver, 18 years
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
- Valid CDL Class B license and a clean driving record
- Experience in delivery, DSD, route sales, warehouse, or customer-facing retail — if you've worked in a supermarket, you already know this world
- An early start is fine by you (routes typically begin between 3:30am – 4:30am)
- You're comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your route
- 21+ and a high school diploma or GED
Note: You don't need formal DSD or sales experience to apply. If you have a CDL and a background working with customers or in a physical role, we want to talk to you.
A bit about the physical side: This is an active role. You'll be on your feet, loading products and moving through stores throughout your shift. The Carvel product is frozen - but our trucks use still-air cold holds, not forced air, so the environment is more manageable than you might expect. You'll typically be finished by early afternoon
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Parental leave
Work Location: On the road
