We are looking for an experienced Prepress Operator / Digital Print Production Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a commercial print environment, including operating production digital presses and preparing customer files for print.
Experience working in the printing department at FedEx Office/Kinko’s, OfficeMax, Staples, or another commercial print shop is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, modify, and correct customer artwork for production.
- Operate and assist with commercial production digital presses.
- Read and accurately interpret job orders and production specifications.
- Identify and correct common prepress issues such as bleeds, crop marks, page size, fonts, images, color, and page order.
- Prepare files according to press and finishing requirements.
- Perform quality checks before and during production.
- Communicate with customers and internal production staff when clarification is needed.
- Assist with other print production duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial printing, prepress, or digital production.
- Experience operating commercial digital production presses.
- Experience taking customer-supplied files and modifying/fixing them for print.
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
- Basic Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, or Photoshop knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand job tickets and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer and email skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has worked as a Prepress Technician, Digital Press Operator, or Print Production Specialist and understands the process from customer artwork to finished printed product.
This is a hands-on production position. Commercial printing and digital press experience is strongly preferred over general graphic design experience.
Schedule: Full-time days. We will also consider part-time or full-time night-shift candidates for the right applicant.
Pay: $28.00 per hour
