Duties
- Perform on-site diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as fluid changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical systems, vehicle systems for truck drivers, and industrial electrical components.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts during repair procedures or testing phases while adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all repairs meet safety regulations and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with heavy equipment mechanics or automotive repair; dealership experience is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, transmissions, suspension, HVAC, diesel engines, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and perform heavy lifting when required.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques such as welding or cutting metal components.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid certifications or experience in heavy truck repair, diesel mechanics, or industrial equipment maintenance are preferred.
