Weakley County Prevention Coalition Prevention Director of Community Engagement
Position Summary
The Director of Community Engagement leads WCPC's community-facing prevention programming while supervising the coordinators and staff who carry it out day to day. This role brings together program strategy, partner relationships, and team leadership, ensuring the coalition's community initiatives run smoothly and staff have the support they need to succeed. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship-builder and communicator who also brings proven experience managing and developing a team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support community engagement staff, providing regular feedback, performance evaluations, and day-to-day guidance
- Oversee onboarding, training, and workload assignment for community engagement team members and volunteers
- Design and carry out community programming that increases involvement in coalition initiatives
- Work with the WCPC Director and grantors to implement strategies that meet program objectives
- Ensure timely, accurate quarterly progress reports and maintain a database tracking grant-related outputs and outcomes
- Attend required grantee trainings and meetings, and represent the coalition at relevant events
- Coordinate prevention efforts and partnerships across the county
- Plan and implement special events tied to grant objectives
- Deliver public speaking and training sessions to a range of audiences
- Track team and program efforts to ensure goals, objectives, and activities are completed successfully
- Build the coalition's network through local, regional, and statewide partnerships (SADD, TN PAC, PAT, CADCA, and similar)
- Other duties as assigned by the Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- 2–5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience required
- Strong initiative and a collaborative approach to leadership
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with youth, especially ages 11–17, in non-academic settings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, Dropbox, Canva, and social media platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident, engaging public speaker
- Valid driver's license required
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Knowledge of substance abuse prevention preferred
- Availability for evening/weekend meetings and multiple overnight stays, particularly during summer months
Pay: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
