Position Summary
The Interventional Psychiatry Coordinator I plays a critical role supporting both the administrative coordination and clinical flow for Ketamine and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, providing thorough care coordination, and managing a streamlined patient journey. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and interpersonal communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries related to Interventional Psychiatry services, including patients, families, referral sources, and community partners.
- Coordinate patient intake for TMS and SPRAVATO®/Ketamine services, ensuring completion of required documentation, referrals, consents, and pre-screening materials.
- Conduct TMS pre-screening and intake assessments using established clinical criteria to support provider determination of patient eligibility.
- Educate patients and, when appropriate, families about TMS and SPRAVATO®/Ketamine treatments, including the general process, benefits, risks, and expectations, in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Address patient questions, concerns, and barriers to care in a timely, compassionate, and professional manner.
- Schedule all TMS and SPRAVATO®/Ketamine appointments, coordinating closely with providers and clinical teams to optimize schedules and ensure treatment adherence
- Monitor treatment schedules and proactively follow up with patients to support attendance and continuity of care.
- Coordinate prior authorizations and required documentation for TMS and SPRAVATO®/Ketamine services in collaboration with the billing and authorization teams.
- Schedule and conduct tours of the clinic’s Interventional Psychiatry facility for prospective patients and referral sources.
- Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless communication and care coordination throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and appointment schedules within the clinic's electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment outcomes, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and clinic policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
- Point of contact for interested parties to contact to receive information about Nevada Mental Health’s Interventional Psychiatry services.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting, particularly in psychiatry or mental health is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and importance of protecting patient health information
- Knowledge of the DSM and basic mental health terms
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Excellent computer and phone skills are a must for this role
- Awareness, sensitivity to, and respect for cultural variation and the power of personal values and biases
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered service while maintaining professional boundaries.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
