Job Description
The Head Start Family Adovate is responsible for engaging parents in their child's pre-school education, as well as supporting parents in meeting basic needs and achieving their family goals.
- Promote positive parent involvement through activities such as parent committees, volunteer engagement, advocacy in special needs processes and behavioral health needs, home visits, parent-teacher conferences, and leadership opportunities
- Completes enrollments
- Drive to partner schools, home visits, etc.
- Facilitate parent committee meetings and ensure participation
- Maintain tracking systems such as child files, screenings, parent interaction, etc.
- Provide support to parents through social service referrals and mentoring
- Serve as bus monitor as needed.
- Manage visitors to classrooms/center
- Fully participate in general health activities, including family meal participation and nutrition.
- Meet in-kind program goals by recruiting and managing program volunteers and soliciting other program-related donations; tracking and reporting in-kind contributions.
- Provide direct classroom coverage, as needed
- Perform light housekeeping duties to achieve the highest standards of classroom and facility cleanliness; maintain general grounds.
Must have a degree or certification meeting the requirements of the federal Office of Head Start. Bachelor's Degree in social service/ social work/ human services or related field strongly preferred. EEO.
