About the Role
Primary Care Sports Medicine is seeking a Provider Assistant/Medical Scribe to work directly alongside one of our providers, supporting patient visits through real-time documentation. This is a short-term, part-time role designed to bridge a staffing gap while the practice completes its transition to an AI-assisted documentation tool. The schedule will center on the provider's in-office days, so you can plan accordingly.
What You’ll Do
- Accompany the provider during patient visits and document the exam, history, and plan in real time in our EMR (eClinicalWorks).
- Keep charts accurate, complete, and ready for the provider to sign off the same day.
- Pull up prior notes, labs, and imaging so the provider has what they need during the visit, without breaking their flow with the patient.
- Help with light back-office tasks between visits, such as checkout support or answering phones, as needed.
- Enter orders and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
- Follow all HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines in every part of the job.
- Adapt as the practice rolls out AI scribe tools, including helping test workflows during the transition.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior scribe, medical assistant, or clinical documentation experience preferred.
- Comfortable with medical terminology and orthopedic/sports medicine visits (a plus, not required).
- Fast, accurate typing and the ability to keep up in a busy exam room.
- Experience with an EMR system; familiarity with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work well as part of a small clinical team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Schedule
Part-time, built around the supporting provider's clinic days. Exact days and hours will be confirmed with the selected candidate. This is a temporary assignment, expected to run while the practice completes its AI documentation rollout.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
