In this role. you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, and well-being of the dogs in our care. You’ll work closely with animals and team members to provide a positive environment that promotes healthy play and comfort. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, training, and customer service while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain dogs during daily activities, training sessions, and veterinary procedures
- Assist with pet grooming, cleaning kennels, and maintaining hygienic environments for animals
- Support pet sitting duties by monitoring dogs’ behavior and ensuring their comfort during their stay
- Conduct outdoor work such as walking, exercising, and socializing dogs in various environments
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and progress
- Assist veterinary technicians or assistants with animal care tasks including feeding, medication administration, and health monitoring
- Support team lifting activities when moving or transporting animals or equipment safely
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, or kennel management is a plus
- Knowledge of dog body language and animal handling skills are preferable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work comfortably and safely
- Strong understanding of animal restraint, cleaning protocols, and animal care standards
- customer service skills with a positive attitude
- Prior experience working with animals in a team environment preferred
