Texas Commercial Tire is a family-owned commercial tire and fleet service company committed to providing exceptional service to our customers. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position will primarily focus on Accounts Payable but will also support other accounting and administrative functions. We are seeking someone who is organized, adaptable, and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities while assisting the team where needed.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Verify invoice details and supporting documentation
- Prepare and process vendor payments
- Maintain vendor records and files
- Research and resolve vendor discrepancies and inquiries
- Monitor outstanding payables and payment schedules
Additional Accounting Responsibilities
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Support month-end closing activities
- Assist with account reconciliations and financial record maintenance
- Cross-train and assist with Accounts Receivable functions as needed
- Help gather documentation for audits and compliance requirements
- Maintain organized electronic and physical records
- Enter and maintain accounting data within the company's accounting and business management software systems
Administrative & Team Support
- Assist with special projects and process improvements
- Work closely with management and other departments
- Perform general accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience preferred
- Experience working with accounting and business management software required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn new software systems quickly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and eager to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive, tire, fleet, trucking, or service industry
- Experience with account reconciliations
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with inventory-based businesses is a plus
