We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and self-starting professional to join our team as a Sales Associate that is a team player with unwavering focus on customer service
The Sale Associate provides friendly and consistent customer service in a fast paced, physically demanding, multifaceted role. Efficiently processes high volume transactions on a computerized POS system.
Key competencies include extensive knowledgeable of all products, proficient selling skills, processing and shipping orders, receiving and stocking inventory and the capability to operate computerized POS system while maintaining guest satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years previous wine industry experience in a retail store or restaurant required
- Extensive knowledge of international wine and spirits is required
- Level 2 or higher WSET or Level 2 Court of Master Sommeliers certification strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist customers and manage team members
- Significantly contribute to wine, beer and spirits selection and purchasing
- Develop and manage in-store events, evening wine dinners and tastings
- Ensure that all products are properly stocked and displayed.
- Develop and manage in-store and online sales strategies for all products
- Maintain accurate inventory and proper rotation of all products
- Assist with receiving of new merchandise from vendors to include stocking new merchandise, placing into overstock storage locations, etc.
- Assist with preparation of shipping for web and telephone orders
- Interact with Michael’s On East restaurant team and oversee and maintain restaurant wine list

Michael's On East Catering
Michael's Events & Catering is Sarasota’s premiere caterer creating memorable events from candlelit dinners for two to dazzling galas for 1,000 guests held at any venue for over 30 years. The Michael’s On East Ballroom in Midtown Plaza can host up to 500 guests for a seated event and is easily partitioned for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The adjacent, stunning glass-covered garden atrium space works beautifully for cocktail receptions. Our off-property waterfront event venue at Selby Botanical Gardens, alongside the beautiful wedding settings on the grounds, help keep our team busy year-round. We are also exclusive caterers at Bay Preserve and preferred caterers at The Ringling Museum, Crosley Estate and more.
Michael's Wine Cellar
Michael's Wine Cellar is the newest addition to the Michael’s family is the hip, urban Michael’s Wine Cellar which hosts more than 1,000 International estate-bottled wines. The Wine Cellar also offers premium & boutique spirits, imported & craft beers and more than 200 boutique wines under $25. Store hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10am–6pm. The wine store can also be transformed into a magical space perfect for any type of special event, including luncheons and rehearsal dinners for 25 guests up to 200 guests for receptions. An outdoor covered patio with wrought iron tables and chairs is adjacent to Michael’s Wine Cellar.
