The New Beginnings Center (TNBC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming women's health through strength training, nutrition education, and behavior change coaching. By offering personalized, holistic programs at little to no cost, TNBC empowers women to take control of their well-being, fostering healthier families and stronger communities.
Since 2011, TNBC has provided life-changing support to more than 5,000 historically marginalized women, tackling preventable chronic conditions and generating an estimated $12 million in public health savings. The impact is undeniable, with 82% improved body composition, 87% increased self-confidence, and 94% reduced chronic pain. TNBC is not only changing individual lives, we’re creating a scalable, community-based model for generational resilience and long-term public health impact across Middle Tennessee.
Position Summary
TNBC is seeking an experienced and mission-aligned Wellness Leader to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality strength training, nutrition, and wellness coaching, leading group training sessions, and providing individualized support to clients.
The ideal candidate brings deep strength training experience, foundational nutrition knowledge, strong communication and leadership skills, and a passion for empowering women in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for group classes by setting up and breaking down equipment, including resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, and bodyweight stations.
- Lead group fitness classes focused on strength, endurance, and mobility for women of all backgrounds and ability levels.
- Deliver 1:1 coaching and personalized support tailored to individual client goals and limitations.
- Ability to adapt exercises through progressions and regressions based on client needs.
- Teach TNBC’s evidence-based nutrition and life coaching curriculum.
- Track and report class attendance and participation.
- Communicate with clients by email, text, or phone as appropriate.
- Submit updates on all active clients, including body weight, body composition changes, medication reductions, and other milestones, as requested.
- Enforce and model proper safety protocols and equipment usage.
- Embody and promote TNBC’s values of equity, empathy, empowerment, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Current certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, etc.).
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Proven experience teaching and programming workouts using resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, and functional fitness techniques.
- Experience working with women, especially those from historically marginalized communities, strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively on a team.

- Bent-over dumbbell row
- Kettlebell swing
- Med-ball slams, wall balls, battling ropes, and similar conditioning tools
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
