Job Overview
The Budtender is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by providing knowledgeable and compliant service. This role involves guiding customers through product selection, ensuring compliance with ID verification, managing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of cannabis products.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

Welcome and Assist Customers: Greet each customer warmly and provide guidance based on their preferences and needs.

Product Recommendations: Utilize in-depth product knowledge to suggest appropriate items, including strains, edibles, and concentrates, tailored to each customer’s desired effects.

Upselling and Loyalty Program: Inform customers about ongoing promotions and loyalty programs to encourage repeat business.

ID Verification and Compliance

Age Verification: Conduct ID checks to ensure all customers meet the legal age requirement before entering the sales floor.

Transaction Limits: Monitor purchase limits per customer to maintain compliance with state regulations.

Transaction and Cash Management

Accurate Checkout Process: Handle cash, debit, and loyalty transactions through Dutchie POS with precision, applying discounts and loyalty points as applicable.

Cash Handling: Count and reconcile cash at the start and end of each shift, ensuring cash drawer accuracy.

Inventory and Display Management

Restocking and Organization: Monitor stock levels on the sales floor, notify Inventory Associates of low stock, and organize products by type.

FIFO Rotation: Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation for displays, ensuring compliance with labeling and expiration dates.

Sanitation and Workstation Maintenance

Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, and preparing displays.

End-of-Day Procedures: Perform closing duties, including securing cash, logging out of POS, and verifying product security.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred; cannabis industry knowledge is a plus.

Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, cash handling proficiency, and ability to provide accurate product information.

Other Requirements: Must be of legal age (21) to work in a dispensary, with the ability to pass background checks in accordance with local and state laws.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
