The Simulation Technician will support the daily operations of the Simulation Center through the preparation, operation, and maintenance of simulation and clinical training equipment used in healthcare education. Responsibilities include programming and operating patient simulators, preparing simulation rooms and clinical environments in accordance with planned educational activities, and ensuring all simulation equipment is functioning properly prior to learner use. The Simulation Technician will also assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and manufacturer-recommended upkeep of simulators and healthcare training equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in healthcare education and simulation-based learning, with a passion for supporting realistic, high-quality training experiences for students and faculty. Experience with healthcare simulation, medical equipment, or clinical environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient simulators, audiovisual systems, and basic computer applications is beneficial. Candidates should be willing to complete additional training related to simulator operation, preventative maintenance, and the safe handling and operation of healthcare equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors/defibrillators, IV pumps, and other clinical training devices.
This position is a daytime position with occasional night and weekend hours. Work hours will be based on Simulation Center needs and will not exceed 24 hours per week.
