Head Pool Lifeguard
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Implement all water safety policies and procedures. Supervise members and guests in and around the swimming pool.
Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)

Vacuums pool bottom, skims bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use.

Always supervises and observes swimmers to ensure their safety.

Administers care for swimmers’ minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises.

Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Pool Director and instructors.

Enforces rules of conduct at the pool.

Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items.

Always organizes and monitors pool games; suggest pool-side games.

Places rescue tube and ring buoy at the lifeguard chair in the morning; returns these and all swimming aids and pool toys to the lifeguard locker when the pool closes.

Straightens the pool area at the end of the day.

Maintains all necessary records determined by the Pool Director.

Attends all meetings as directed by the Pool Director.

Implements all pool safety equipment.

Performs required pool pre-opening duties.

Be able to lift 20 pounds or more.

Inform the Pool Director about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem.

Always maintain cleanliness on pool deck.

Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Lifeguard manager.
