Job Overview
NeuroVision Imaging is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patients receiving services through BrainHealth. This is a fully remote, non-face-to-face patient-support role focused on patient outreach, care coordination, documentation, and support of clinician-directed care plans.
Medical Assistants on the Patient Care Team are cross-trained across multiple patient-support workflows. Assignments may include care coordination, patient onboarding and education support, prior authorization assistance, and Principal Care Management (PCM) support. Specific assignments are based on team needs and individual strengths, and training is provided for each workflow.
Candidates must currently reside and perform all work in one of the following approved states:
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, or West Virginia.
Employment cannot be performed from another state without prior written approval from NeuroVision Imaging.
Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned workflow, responsibilities may include:
- Conduct phone and electronic outreach to patients
- Communicate with authorized caregivers or family members when appropriate HIPAA authorization is on file
- Help patients follow clinician-directed care-plan steps
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, labs, imaging, and outstanding orders
- Transmit clinician-authorized lab and imaging orders to the appropriate facilities
- Assist with prior authorization requests and follow-up
- Coordinate with primary care providers, laboratories, imaging centers, and outside providers as needed
- Identify and document logistical or social barriers to care
- Document patient interactions, care activities, and time in the patient record
- Escalate clinical questions, symptoms, or concerns to the appropriate supervising clinician
- Support care-management billing documentation, including CPT 99426 and 99427, when assigned to PCM workflows
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation
- Participate in training, team meetings, coaching, and quality reviews
- Perform other patient-support and administrative duties consistent with the position, as assigned
Important Scope Limitation
This is a patient-support and care-coordination role. This position does not provide independent medical advice or exercise independent clinical judgment.
Medical Assistants in this position do not:
- Provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations
- Make medication changes or recommend medication changes
- Provide independent medical opinions
- Interpret test results, biomarker results, or genetic information
- Make independent clinical decisions
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in patient support, care coordination, referrals, prior authorization, or healthcare administration
- Strong telephone communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, caregivers, providers, and team members
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow clinician-directed workflows and escalation procedures
- Ability and willingness to learn and move between patient-support workflows as business needs change
- Comfortable working remotely and using electronic health systems
- Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- A quiet, private workspace appropriate for confidential patient communications
- Availability to work a full-time schedule during Eastern Time business hours
Preferred Qualifications
- CMA, RMA, CCMA, or similar Medical Assistant certification
- Experience processing prior authorizations
- Experience transmitting or coordinating lab and imaging orders
- Experience in care management, chronic care management, Principal Care Management, neurology, primary care, or specialty-practice support
- Experience with electronic medical records or patient-engagement platforms
- Experience coordinating referrals and follow-up care
- Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
- Previous experience working remotely in a healthcare environment

Physical and Remote-Work Requirements
This position requires prolonged computer use and frequent telephone, video, and electronic communication. Employees must be able to remain available and responsive during scheduled working hours and accurately record all time worked.
Working from public locations or other environments that do not protect patient confidentiality is not permitted.
