Responsibilities
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely for tasks such as cutting, drilling, and assembling materials.
- Support heavy equipment operation and perform heavy lifting to move materials around the site efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to assist tradespeople in executing their tasks accurately.
- Prepare sites by clearing debris, and performing demolition activities as needed.
- Mix and pour concrete using mixers or pumps; ensure proper curing and finishing techniques are followed.
- Support roadway and earthwork operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential!
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation are highly valued.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, or construction estimating is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities to coordinate effectively with crew members.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or site transportation is advantageous.
- Certifications such as OSHA safety training or specialized trade licenses are a bonus but not required at the outset.
