Charleston Thyroid Center is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our growing specialty practice as a Clinical Care Coordinator. This position is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant, LPN, RN, retired nurse, or other healthcare professionals (including those with experience in prior authorizations and insurance) who enjoy patient care, organization, and problem-solving.

This position may be performed remotely, in our Mount Pleasant office, or as a hybrid role, depending on your preference and experience.
What You'll Do
As part of our team, you'll play an important role in coordinating patient care and supporting our providers by:
- Completing insurance prior authorizations for medications, laboratory testing, imaging, and procedures
- Assisting with patient scheduling and appointment coordination
- Managing patient portal messages and provider task lists within our electronic medical record
- Communicating with patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, and referring offices
- Helping coordinate testing, prescriptions, and follow-up care
- Supporting providers with administrative and clinical workflow
- Assisting with special projects as our practice continues to grow
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has previous healthcare or clinical experience of any kind and is a fast learner
- Does not need an active professional license (although active licensure is certainly welcome)
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Communicates professionally and compassionately with patients
- Works well independently and takes initiative
- Is comfortable learning electronic medical record systems and other technology
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Insurance prior authorizations
- Intramuscular (IM) injections
- Phlebotomy
- Care coordination or chronic disease management
- Electronic medical record systems
Schedule
- Part-time (approximately 8–20 hours per week)
- Flexible scheduling
- Remote, hybrid, or in-office options available
- Potential for additional hours as the practice grows
