General Description: Assists with the daily management of the students and classroom by performing a variety of paraprofessional curricular, instructional, clerical, and support tasks to aid teachers and other professional staff in a general or special education classroom or learning environment.
Essential Responsibilities:

Works cooperatively with the teacher to provide instructional or developmental activities for a general or special education population

Provides reinforcement and remedial instruction or tasks to reinforce learning initiated by a teacher or professional staff

Works with students requiring individual attention or students who are experiencing difficulties and provides feedback to the teacher

Assists the teacher in the implementation of individualized educational programs in one-on-one or small group settings, when appropriate

Prepares a variety of instructional materials and reports, as requested

Monitors student engagement and behaviors while the teacher is otherwise occupied with other instructional or school-related tasks

Assists with the teaching and practice of basic skills which may involve instructional technologies under general supervision

Helps maintain order and discipline and assists with managing the behavior of students, including crisis management

Administers or proctors tests and other assessments, providing accommodations as needed

Assists with the collection of data and the maintenance of files containing student work as well as evaluation and assessment records

Facilitates personal care services for students assisting with routine care, including hygiene, feeding, toileting, and other tasks, as required or assigned

Performs related duties as required or assigned
Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED, plus an Associate’s degree or equivalent (60 semester hours of college coursework) OR passing Parapro test scores
Preferred Qualifications:

College coursework or other training in child development or teaching

1 or more years working with children in an organized setting

Experience with a diverse student population
26-27 Salary:
$26,066 - $47,938 annually
Associate's degree or Parapro: +$500
Bachelor's degree: +$1000
Additional Information:
This is a 10-month/185 day position

Sitting, standing, and walking may be required for extended periods of time. Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching may be needed to perform some duties

Hearing and speaking is required for the exchange of information

Use of computer or other device screens is necessary

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines

This job may involve moving students from wheelchairs, occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds or the use of a Hoyer lift
