Role Description
This is a contract role for a Secondary Math Tutor at Focus Tutors. The Secondary Math Tutor will be responsible for conducting online and/or in-person tutoring sessions, teaching mathematics concepts, communicating effectively with students, and providing support in coursework. In-person sessions will take place in Scottsdale and the surrounding areas, with flexibility for remote work. Virtual tutors can be from any US location.
Qualifications
- Mathematics skills in one of the following courses: Pre-algebra, Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus or Calculus
- Experience in online tutoring and/or in-person tutoring
- Strong communication skills
- A passion for educating and helping students succeed
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field

Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in various math subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, or Calculus.
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans that cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress and areas for improvement.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $53.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 9 per week
