PRIMARY FUNCTION
The
Member Services Desk Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to members, guests, and visitors of Bayou Bend Fitness Center. This position serves as the first point of contact for the facility and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, professional, and member-focused environment. The Member Services Desk Associate supports daily front desk operations while promoting the mission and goals of Bayou Bend Fitness Center and Bayou Bend Health System.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and assist members, guests, and visitors in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
- Provide information regarding membership, programs, services, facility policies, and upcoming events.
- Perform member check-in procedures and support daily front desk operations.
- Process memberships, program registrations, payments, and point-of-sale transactions in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Assist with member account inquiries and direct concerns to appropriate department personnel when necessary.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and complete assigned daily operational tasks.
- Maintain knowledge of facility programs, wellness initiatives, special events, and community activities.
- Promote membership services, programs, wellness offerings, and facility events.
- Assist with administrative duties, member communications, and facility recordkeeping as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk environment.
- Foster positive relationships with members, guests, and fellow team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous customer service, hospitality, retail, healthcare, or fitness industry experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn membership management software systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Current CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain within established timeframe.
