Position Summary
The Cabinet Technician assists with cabinet removal, installation, delivery, pickup, finishing preparation, and cabinet assembly. This role primarily works in the field on residential job sites, with occasional work in the workshop supporting production activities.
Cabinet Technicians work closely with Lead Cabinet Technicians, cabinet builders, finishers, and management to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and with a high level of craftsmanship. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to customer service are essential.
This role reports directly to the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Cabinet Removal & Installation Support
- Assist Lead Cabinet Technicians with cabinet removal and installation on job sites
- Safely support countertops during cabinet removal when necessary
- Assist with cabinet assembly and preparation for installation
- Support pickup and delivery of cabinets and materials between job sites and the shop
Surface Preparation & Finishing Support
- Clean cabinet surfaces in preparation for refinishing
- Properly sand solid wood and veneered cabinet surfaces
- Assist with staining and finishing tasks as directed
- Ensure cabinet components are properly prepared for finishing
Job Site Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site before, during, and after work
- Protect customer property while performing work inside homes
- Identify and communicate job site issues to Lead Technicians or supervisors
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate equipment including power tools, sanders, saws, and dust collection systems when directed
- Follow all company safety procedures and job site protocols
- Maintain clean, organized shop areas and company vehicles
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain daily communication with Lead Technicians, Production Manager, and other team members
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and tasks performed
- Utilize the DASH job management system from a mobile device
- Provide required documentation to support job completion and invoicing
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and field operations
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in construction, remodeling, restoration, or home services
- Experience working on residential job sites
- Ability to interact professionally with customers
- Experience installing or assisting with installation of cabinets, trim, flooring, drywall, appliances, or other finish carpentry elements
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability
- Commitment to safety and maintaining clean work environments
Preferred
- 2+ years experience in cabinetry, woodworking, fixture installation, remodeling, or restoration
- Experience working with cabinet finishing or surface preparation
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
