Position overview
The Medical Records Caller is responsible for following up with medical providers to obtain records that have been requested on behalf of clients with upcoming Social Security Disability hearings. This role requires consistent outbound phone communication, strict attention to deadlines, accurate documentation, and professionalism when interacting with medical offices. You will play a critical role in ensuring client files are complete and ready for hearing.
Once training is complete and performance goals are consistently met, you may be eligible to work from home.
Key responsibilities
Make scheduled outbound calls to medical providers to follow up on previously requested records
Confirm receipt of record requests and determine current status with each provider
Request estimated completion timelines and escalate urgent or overdue records as needed
Re-fax, resend, or clarify requests when providers require additional information
Document all contact attempts, responses, and status updates accurately in the case management system
Prioritize follow-ups based on upcoming hearing dates and internal deadlines
Communicate record status updates to case managers and attorneys in a timely manner
Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with firm policies at all times
Build professional rapport with medical office staff while maintaining appropriate persistence
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
