Overmire Consulting Group, LLC is a consulting and tax preparation firm located in Santa Fe, Texas. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to prepare and maintain financial records for a portfolio of small-business clients.
This position focuses on transaction recording, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial records for tax returns, management reporting, and, when applicable, bank and loan reporting. Most client books are maintained on the cash basis. The position does not generally include accounts payable, customer invoicing, or other full-charge bookkeeping functions.
Responsibilities
· Record and properly categorize business transactions.
· Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
· Review financial records and resolve discrepancies.
· Maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules.
· Prepare periodic financial statements and reports.
· Communicate with clients regarding missing information.
· Manage multiple client assignments and deadlines.
· Maintain the confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications
· Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably with multiple small-business clients.
· Experience maintaining cash-basis books for small businesses.
· Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
· Strong knowledge of transaction classification, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
· Experience with workflow software such as Karbon or a similar platform is preferred.
· Experience with Digits is preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Position: Full-time, in-office
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: $26–$32 per hour, based on experience
Health Insurance: Employee medical and dental coverage paid by the employer
Paid Time Off: Commensurate with experience
