Location: Red Hen Cafe, Montpelier
As a Barista at Red Hen, you’ll be the face of our café; welcoming customers, making delicious espresso drinks, serving sandwiches, and sharing your knowledge of our breads, pastries, and other offerings. This role is perfect for someone who loves great food, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and serve customers with warmth and energy
- Prepare espresso drinks, sandwiches, and other menu items with consistency and care
- Share your product knowledge to engage and educate customers
- Keep the café clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout your shift
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Follow all health and food safety guidelines
Compensation & Benefits
- Baristas typically start between $17.50 - $19.00 per hour, with clear opportunities to increase pay as they develop proficiency and consistency in the role. Core baristas earn $20.50 - $22.50 per hour, and our most experienced team members can earn up to $25.00 per hour over time.
