The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 5 (St. Mary’s County) is currently recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician III position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.
Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to pick up, receive, and deliver parts and supplies. This position will take physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment on hand. This position enters and retrieves data by computer and prepares, receives, approves, and processes requisitions, invoices and purchase orders for stock replacement, equipment repairs and replacement via computer entry. The Shop Administrative Technician is a MD corporate Credit Card holder and must maintain records of usage and reconciliation. This position inspects received items for quality, damage, and ensures they are issued to the proper individuals. This position also stocks all supplies and materials for the maintenance shop, personnel, and contacts vendors with any issues.

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility. May require the ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than twenty words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Ability to operate computerized systems such as FMIS, Maximo, EORS, CCMS.

Ability to receive parts and supplies

Ability to take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment

Ability to enter and retrieve data via personal computer
Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
Candidate must pass the SHA Level I Small Procurement Training during the six (6) month probationary period.
