Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plastic Injection Molding Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in producing high-quality plastic components. This role involves overseeing the entire injection molding process, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and fostering continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with plastics injection molding, and excellent leadership skills to motivate and guide the team toward achieving production goals with precision and excellence.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations of plastic injection molding machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules.
- Coordinate materials handling, including the setup and operation of forklifts, to ensure timely supply of raw materials and efficient waste removal.
- Monitor quality inspection processes to verify that finished products meet specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment issues involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication tools.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall productivity.
- Conduct regular safety checks and enforce safety protocols related to plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion, machining, and materials handling.
- Facilitate training sessions for team members on the use of hand tools, fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production metrics, quality reports, maintenance logs, and shift reports.
Experience
- Proven experience supervising plastic injection molding operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of plastics processing equipment including injection molding machines.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC programming and operation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers for quality inspection purposes.
- Warehouse experience or materials handling expertise is beneficial for managing raw materials and finished goods efficiently.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments in a fast-paced production setting.
