Job Overview:
As an Apprentice Trainer, you will be expected to do whatever it takes. We provide training and care all day for our board and trains as well as our drop in clients. You will be expected to work along side all of our traininers, and learn from their skills as well as guide kennel techs to care for clients as well as advance in their own skills. This is an opportunity to work with a variety of dog breeds and help them develop good manners and obedience.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of all ages and breeds
- Learn to assess dogs' behavior and develop customized training plans to address specific needs
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel
- Train for behavior modification to address issues such as aggression, anxiety, or fear
- Educate dog owners on positive reinforcement and balanced training methods and provide guidance on effective communication with their pets
- Monitor dogs' progress during training sessions and adjust techniques as needed
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's training history and progress
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during training sessions
