Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and dignity
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas and common spaces
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and assist in updating personalized care plans
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs effectively
- Hands-on experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Familiarity with medication administration, care planning, and HIPAA compliance is highly desirable
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as group home experience or hospice care are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively with individuals requiring assistance with mobility or disabilities
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, social workers, residents’ families, and other caregivers
