Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and safety guidelines, utilizing proper food preparation techniques.
- Operate food preparation equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, and cooking appliances.
- Handle food with care, maintaining proper hygiene and adhering to food safety management standards.
- Serve food to customers in a courteous manner, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and ingredients to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Conduct sensory evaluation of foods to ensure quality and consistency before serving.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in compliance with safety standards in production.
- Operate POS systems and process cash and/or card transactions as needed.
Experience
- Previous food service experience in restaurants or catering environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in meal preparation, food production, and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of basic math for portioning, inventory management, and recipe adjustments.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures, safety standards in production, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
- Experience with customer service roles within the food industry, emphasizing friendly interaction and serving skills.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely during busy meal periods.
- Prior kitchen or restaurant experience that showcases slicing techniques such as knife skills and familiarity with catering operations is advantageous.
