Dayton Humane & Co. Resale Boutique is a boutique-style store that sells high-quality, gently used, and new items for low prices. All net proceeds directly support the innovative lifesaving programs of The Humane Society of Greater Dayton, a 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization.
Dayton Humane & Co. is currently looking for a Part-Time Mover to assist the store three days a week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ride along in a box truck to various locations to pick up and deliver furniture and other items
- Assist with loading and unloading furniture and materials in a safe and organized manner
- Carefully wrap, carry, and transport items to prevent damage
- Follow instructions from the Facilities Support and Delivery Driver, as well as Store Manager to ensure efficient execution of daily tasks
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the truck, the store, and at job sites
- Provide friendly and professional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
- Support general organization and maintenance of inventory and storage areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in moving, furniture delivery, or general labor preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs.) repeatedly and safely
- Reliable transportation to and from the designated starting location
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physically demanding role involving frequent lifting, bending, and moving
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Fast-paced environment with varying daily tasks
Pay: $15.00 per hour
