Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify code violations related to building safety, zoning, sanitation, and property maintenance
- Investigate reports of violations by engaging with residents, business owners, and contractors to resolve issues promptly
- Enforce compliance with local ordinances, building codes, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standard regulations where applicable
- Prepare detailed reports documenting violations, inspection findings, and recommended corrective actions
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met efficiently
- Educate the public on compliance standards through outreach programs and clear communication
- Follow up on violations to verify corrective measures have been implemented effectively
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or building inspection is highly desirable
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation of inspections and violations
- Experience managing compliance programs or regulatory documentation is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse community members and stakeholders
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting processes ensures timely submission of required documentation
