Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure they meet food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Sort and organize clean items for proper storage or immediate use in food service or catering functions.
- Follow strict food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with basic food handling, including bussing tables, clearing plates, and supporting food preparation tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area by cleaning sinks, countertops, floors, and other surfaces regularly.
- Support heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies, equipment, or bulk items within the kitchen or banquet areas.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely availability of clean dishes and utensils during busy service periods.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing techniques.
- Experience in restaurant or hotel environments with familiarity in food handling and kitchen operations.
- Strong manual handling skills for lifting heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food preparation processes are a plus.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Experience with catering or banquet service environments is desirable.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude towards hospitality service.
