Position Overview
The After School Manager will work with the Impact Department to implement and maintain high quality after school programming in City Year partner schools in Philadelphia and Norristown. On a daily basis, the After School Manager will serve as the primary organizational lead for after school programming, providing strategic oversight, implementation support, and continuous quality improvement across all partner sites. The Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality program delivery, strengthening school partnerships, coaching and developing staff, maintaining compliance with grant and organizational requirements, and using data to drive decision-making and student outcomes. They will manage a team of two grant-funded, part-time, hourly direct reports.
This is a year-round, part-time, hourly position at 25 hours/week, $25/hour, and grant-funded through April 2029. This position is not benefits eligible.
The role requires a 5 days in-person at Philadelphia and Norristown area schools with the ability to work occasional evening hours.
The anticipated start date for the position is September/October 2026.
Job Description
2-4+ years of experience in child development, education, social services, or comparable experience Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, facilitate meetings, and deliver professional development
The After School Manager will perform the following roles and responsibilities as described below:
Program Management and Strategy
Coaching and Staff Management
Facilitate training,professional development and conduct regular site visits, observations, and feedback sessions for AmeriCorps Members and staff delivering afterschool programming.
Works with manager and MDI to establish and carry out the vision and manages performance for a team of two members by aligning goals, monitoring progress, and fostering an environment of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
