American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment in a Level II Trauma Center.

Work in a large acute care OR with 12 general OR suites, 1 CVOR suite, and 1 hybrid room
-
Average of 14 cases per day across a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho (total joints), gyn, urology, general, ENT, plastics, vascular, neuro, and robotics (Da Vinci); transplants are not performed
-
Trauma experience is required as the facility is a Level II Trauma Center
-
Travelers will not be required to perform CVOR procedures unless specifically requested
-
1:1 scrub-to-surgeon ratio

Charting performed in Cerner Surginet
-
8-hour day shifts available: 6:45am–3:15pm, 2:45pm–11:15pm, or 10:45pm–7:15am

Weekday call is required 4–8 times per 4-week schedule (self-scheduled); call hours run from end of shift until 7am the next morning — two call teams (heart and regular)

Weekend call is required every 4th weekend for day and evening shifts; weekend call for the night shift is variable based on needs

30-minute call response time required

No floating required for OR techs

Holiday coverage includes 1 major and 1 minor holiday in both summer and winter months

Minimum of 2 years of OR surgical technologist experience required

Experience with trauma, ortho, and general surgery cases is required
-
CST certification through NBSTSA required; pending certifications are not accepted

BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
-
Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted

A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
-
2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Orientation consists of 2–3 shifts on the unit

Scrubs are provided by the facility

A charge nurse and OR techs are present on the unit

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered
