We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of the Howdy Homemade Ice Cream division. This is a unique opportunity to combine traditional accounting skills with purpose-driven work that makes a difference.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of financial activity related to Howdy Homemade Ice Cream. This position supports the day-to-day accounting functions and plays a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and manage daily sales activity for Howdy Homemade Ice Cream in the accounting system
- Review and track sales and use tax data for quarterly filings
- Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly invoices
- Perform reconciliations of ledgers and external financial accounts
- Support the month-end close process and assist with financial reporting
- Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable balances
- Coordinate with the store manager on inventory tracking and store-related expenses
- Maintain and update lease records and lease-related accounting entries
- Provide support on special projects and during audits or financial reviews as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or multi-entity environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
