Job Title: Senior CAD Drafter - Stone & Tile
Job Type: Full-time (In Office)
Location: Amityville, NY
Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on relevant experience
Neureise Group is seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented CAD Drafter with a strong background in architectural stone, tile, millwork, architectural fabrication, or a closely related trade.
This is not an entry-level drafting position. We need a drafter who can take architectural drawings, field information, specifications, and project requirements and turn them into accurate, fabrication-ready shop drawings and tickets.
The ideal candidate understands that successful drafting in the stone and tile industry goes far beyond operating AutoCAD. You must be able to think through dimensions, elevations, sections, details, joints, transitions, field conditions, installation requirements, and fabrication constraints before material reaches production or the field.
Experience specifically with stone, tile, countertops, architectural millwork, façade/cladding systems, or custom architectural fabrication is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
As a CAD Drafter, you will:
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, field dimensions, and project documentation to determine project scope and requirements
- Produce detailed stone and tile shop drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop plans, elevations, sections, and details necessary for approval, fabrication, and installation
- Produce accurate fabrication tickets and instructional drawings for production
- Translate architectural intent into practical, buildable stone and tile details
- Verify dimensions, material sizes, joint locations, edge conditions, profiles, openings, transitions, and component relationships
- Identify dimensional conflicts, missing information, and potential fabrication or installation problems before they reach production or the field
- Coordinate drawing revisions based on architect, contractor, project manager, field, and client comments
- Review your own work thoroughly for dimensional accuracy, consistency, constructability, and completeness
- Perform material take-offs and assist with estimating and bidding when required
- Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, production teams, and installers
- Visit job sites as needed for field measurements, layout verification, and inspection
- Maintain organized drawing sets and accurately incorporate revisions throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking ForRequired
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency
- Professional drafting experience producing detailed architectural, fabrication, or shop drawings
- Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
- Strong understanding of geometry, dimensions, tolerances, square footage, percentages, and scale
- Ability to identify discrepancies and solve dimensional, mechanical, and logistical problems
- Ability to visualize how individual components come together in the finished installation
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of drawing accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions while meeting demanding deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Strongly Preferred
Experience drafting for one or more of the following:
- Natural stone fabrication and installation
- Tile and large-format porcelain
- Countertops and custom stone fabrication
- Architectural stone walls, floors, stairs, fireplaces, surrounds, and specialty features
- Exterior stone cladding or façade systems
- Architectural millwork or custom fabrication
- Commercial architectural interiors
- Other high-end architectural trades requiring detailed shop and fabrication drawings
The Right Person for This Position
We are looking for someone who is meticulous by nature.
You check dimensions rather than assume they are correct. You notice inconsistencies between plans, elevations, and details. You ask questions when information is missing. You think about how something will actually be fabricated and installed, not simply how it appears on the drawing.
You take pride in producing drawings that the project management, fabrication, and installation teams can rely on.
If you have strong drafting experience in stone, tile, architectural fabrication, or another detail-intensive construction trade, we want to hear from you.
What We Offer:
- Competitive compensation: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience
- Comprehensive benefits package, Paid time off, 401(k), professional growth and development
