Role Overview
The Service Advisor serves as the primary liaison between clients and the shop, responsible for guiding customers through maintenance, repair, and customization projects with clarity, confidence, and technical understanding. This role mirrors the responsibilities of a BMW or exotic dealership Service Advisor, while also requiring fluency in aftermarket upgrades, performance parts, and custom vehicle builds.
You will manage relationships, write accurate service estimates, coordinate workflow with technicians, and ensure each client experience reflects AUTOcouture’s standards of precision and trust.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relations & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the service lifecycle
- Greet clients, assess vehicle concerns, and recommend appropriate services or upgrades
- Clearly explain maintenance needs, repair findings, and customization options
- Provide regular updates on vehicle status, timelines, and approvals
- Build long-term relationships with repeat clients and enthusiasts
Service Writing & Workflow Coordination
- Ensure all repair orders are executed within the bounds of AUTOcouture Motoring’s Standard Operating Procedures
- Create detailed repair orders and service estimates using shop management softwares
- Order all required parts and supplies for repair orders
- Coordinate scheduling with technicians to ensure efficient workflow
- Translate technician findings into customer-friendly explanations
- Ensure all work is authorized prior to execution
- Close repair orders accurately, including parts, labor, and notes
- Keep the Service Manager informed on all red flags with jobs
Customization & Performance Advisory
- Consult with clients on aftermarket upgrades and make recommendations based on the client’s needs and vision (suspension, wheels, exhaust, cooling, forced induction, aero, etc.)
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate parts based on vehicle use (street, track, show, daily)
- Coordinate custom builds from concept through completion
- Understand the nuances of compatibility, lead times, and installation requirements for performance parts
Technical Awareness
- Maintain working knowledge of BMW M, Porsche, and exotic platforms
- Understand common performance issues (rod bearings, crank hubs, cooling limitations, alignment needs, etc.)
- Communicate technical concepts accurately without over- or under-selling
- Collaborate closely with technicians to ensure expectations match outcomes
Administrative & Sales Support
- Uphold shop policies, safety standards, and brand reputation
- Process invoices, collect payments, and ensure documentation is complete
- Support parts ordering and inventory control/coordination when needed
- Assist with follow-ups, post-service check-ins, and customer retention
- Participate and support in internal and external events that the shop exhibits
- Utilize shop sales CRM software to maintain and keep sales pipelines up-to-date
- Proactive sales such as performing outreach and participating in forums
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years experience as a Service Advisor at a BMW, luxury, or exotic dealership or high-end performance shop. If you do not meet the experience we are looking for please let us know your current experience.
- Strong understanding of automotive maintenance and performance modifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles and customers simultaneously
- Comfortable working with high-value vehicles and discerning clients
- Enthusiasm for cars, motorsport, and automotive culture
- Valid drivers license is a requirement, any outstanding moving violations or probationary issues must be reported during the interview
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with BMW M, Porsche, or performance aftermarket brands
- Familiarity with shop management software
- Background in automotive sales, service, or motorsport environments
