Position Overview
The Emery/Weiner School seeks a dynamic, innovative, and collegial Hebrew Teacher to join our collaborative faculty beginning in the Fall of 2025. Responsibilities include teaching five sections of Hebrew and serving as a homeroom advisor, as well as participation in student life, and chaperoning duties according to the experience of the candidate and needs of the school. The ideal applicant is an enthusiastic professional with a broad range of subject knowledge and previous middle or secondary school teaching experience. The teacher will also work closely with members of the staff to provide an inspiring and motivational Jewish learning environment.
A strong candidate will have a desire to teach in a progressive, student-centered independent school that values innovative pedagogy and experiential education. An outstanding candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record of innovation, flexibility, collegiality, and student success. Athletic coaching experience would be considered a plus.

Responsibilities Include:
- Teach five sections of Hebrew
- Assess students’ academic and social development
- Provide consistent and professional oral and written communication to students and families
- Serve as advisor to a small cohort of students
- Collaborate on grade-level, department, and interdisciplinary faculty teams
- Contribute to the life of the school outside the classroom
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hebrew, Jewish Studies, Education, or related field
- Comfort with innovative and forward-thinking approaches to instruction and grading
- A strong a commitment to professional growth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Education, or related field
- Experience teaching in independent schools
- 2-5 years teaching experience
