Design Engineer - North Charlotte, NC
- 6+ Month Contract
- Hybrid Schedule (2-3 Days/Week Remote)
- Monday-Friday 1st Shift Hours
Job Description
The focus will be mechanical system design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA), supported by systems modeling to substantiate the lower-level decisions. This position’s responsibilities will span from initial concepts through detailed drawing execution while working within a project team under the review of a design team lead.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Siemens NX 2406 or newer for parametric 3D modeling
- Experience performing structural analysis using ANSYS Mechanical
- NEED professional experience in racing or motorsports environments
- Strong mechanical design background beyond basic billet or sheet metal design
- Experience with composite structures, mold design, and tooling development
- Strong technical writing, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- Experience with Windchill PLM systems
- Experience supporting integrated vehicle system development and interaction analysis
