Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front End Clerk - Lead to join our team at a busy grocery store. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations at the front end, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of clerks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for retail sales, and the ability to supervise effectively.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations at the front end, ensuring efficient cashiering and customer service.
- Train and mentor front end clerks on best practices in customer service, cash handling, and merchandising.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and promote sales.
- Implement upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintain an organized and stocked front end area, ensuring all products are displayed attractively.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly with excellent phone etiquette.
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and retail math tasks.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving sales performance.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is required.
- Supervisory experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a fast-paced setting.

- Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and POS systems.
